DADU: A highly trained special force has been appointed by the district police of Jamshoro to secure and monitor the shrine of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar during three days of annual Urs.
A meeting of mella committee of Hazrat Qalandar Lal Shahbaz was held on Sunday in Sehwan city to review the arrangements of 766th annual Urs of Lal Shahbaz Qalandar.
Shahbaz mella committee chairman and DC Jamshoro captain (r) Fareed-udin-Mustafa briefed the journalists and said that about 1.5 million devotees are expected to visit the shrine. 300,000 bottles of mineral water have been arranged together with water ‘Sabeels’ established at many places in the city.
DC Jamshoro claimed that 22 new transformers would be operational to prevent power shortfall.
The senior superintendent of police (SSP) Pervaiz Ahmed briefed that a special force would be deployed at the shrine to monitor and secure the region. Security has been divided into four zones and 4500 officers have been appointed to the zones.
Meanwhile, the police have demanded to install 250 CCTV cameras at different places around the shrine.
The police have started to inspect hotels and guest houses.
